For Those Who Travel On Mondays Available Oct 2nd

October 2nd marks the release of Mike Simmons' second record, For Those Who Travel On Mondays.  This new record features nine songs preformed with a modest, yet familiar, group of musicans previously heard on Mike's first record, Love Might Have Been The Thing That Could Have Saved Me, including pianist John Gilbertson, vocalist Katie Leonard and guitarist Mick White.  There are however, a few notable additions who pop up throughout the record, including Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Michelle Featherstone, who makes an appearance on Allison, and Dana Cochran-Wiley and June Wiley who team up with Katie Leonard on the title track For Those Who Travel On Mondays to produce a beautiful blend of vocal freedom and unpredictability that rarely comes together so well on a recording.

As for what listeners can expect out of For Those Who Travel On Mondays, it will be no surprise to Mike Simmons followers to find a deeply intense and enticing group of songs delivered with true passion and, at times, attack-like aggression that places this record among those that become a bit better with each listen.

Mike Simmons on ITunes

On July 7th, 2009 Mike Simmons' record Love Might Have Been The Thing That Could Have Saved Me will be available for purchase on iTunes.  This collection of songs is Mike's first full-length album, and can be found exclusively online.

The record combines storytelling songwriting and sparse instrumentation, which seves as a great introduction to Mike's approach to music and the things he has encountered along the way.  Love Might Have Been The Thing That Could Have Saved Me also includes the single Picture, which has been featured on college radio stations across across America, and was Mike's first music video, shot in late 2008.
